Usually the Szilagyi harps last much longer - they can take a lot of abuse (=hard, prolonged playing). However, the direction of the finger hitting the lamella/trigger is important; personally I strike towards my face. This means a softer attack on the lamella. I've had only one jew's harp giving up on me - and I do have a lot of 'harps! But then again, I'm spoiled - since I only play melodies (no rhythms or weird sounds), I stick to Norwegian harps (mind you, some of the Szilagyi harps meet my requirements). Perhaps this website will give some information: <www.munnharpe.no> (click on the British flag) Best of luck! Bernhard
