Average lasting time of a Jew's Harp?

Hello,i wonder what would be the average lasting time of the instrument(especially the reed)?I have a concrete case in mind.I bought a new harp( Szilagyi's Rococo) six days ago,i practised every day for about an hour,i mostly played it fast with the direction from my lips.On the sixth day a crack appeared at the base of the reed making it to cling to the frame every time i pluck it.Did i overestimate the instrument and gave it too much heat or did i just get the defected piece?And how long in general a good Jew's Harp should last?
