If you travel with a lot, it is a big chunk of suspicious-looking steel on the baggage X-rays. I had to prove what they were when bringing a box of fifty from India to London. These days, I would not want to risk taking them in carry-on: much to precious to loose to some official who might decide they could be threatening!
