I went to the Folklife Festival late last month and attended the mouth bow workshop with John Palmes, and now, I'm thinking of buying, or even, making a mouth bow. Where can I find a good wood or other material to make a mouth bow with, if possible? If not, where can I find and buy a cheap tunable mouthbow? Also, any suggestions for some tunes to start with, once I have the mouth bow and find something to pluck the string with? Also, which genres of music are great with this instrument? I was thinking mainly old-time music.
