The Nutcracker is full of tunes to try. The overture-miniature, Mirlitons, Sugarplum Fairy immediately come to mind. The main theme, flute solo and clarinet solo in Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf are fun to play. Eine Kleine Nachtmusic is one you could actually play along with a very understanding string quartet. Don't forget the Albrechtsberger Concertinos, of course. There's a lot of material out there.
