just received a vintage harp from eBay -- got sound going pretty well, 'til snapola -- the tongue right at the crimp. I think more 'old harp' syndrome than abuse, I was pretty easy on it. Easiest repair seems to be to tack weld/braze the tongue to its remnant in the crimp: overlaid and flush with the outer end (grind tongue narrow to fit inside the crimp and flat to remnant). No problem for me. Tongue will be shorter by 3/8" (8-9mm). Workable? Hopeless? Is tongue otherwise replaceable?
