Thanks for the list of Welsh names Morten, never heard any-one of them being used in this part of the world but i will try to remember them next time i'm asked what the strange instrument is that i'm playing. A lot of people seem to think that the term "jews harp" is somehow politically incorrect and so it will be a chance for me to give them another name to go on. There does seem to be a lot more going on in the world of Khoomei and maybe i should try and learn how to do it as well, your sample of it that you demonstrated to me in Amsterdam was quite impressive and i expect you will be ptactising loads more and i will look forward to hearing some more at the next festival we might meet up at. Since coming back home i went to a music festival near where i live and met another jews harper who couldn't work out how i managed to get so much volume out of my instruments. So i gave him a try on some of mine and explained how the ones available in the UK are usually the cheap and cheerful variety that get sent over from Austria and that he would do well to log on to this site and explore what else is available if he wants to play more seriously. Might have made a new convert. We shall see. Seems like ages since the Amsterdam festival and i would love to get to the Norway one but my finances and work commitments stop me, i am starting to save up for the next International one though and hope it wont be another 4 year wait until it happens. All the best. Steve.
